Securing The NATO Cloud
The NATO Information Assurance and Cyber Defence Symposium will take place 17-20 September 2013, at the NCI Agency's location, Mons (SHAPE).
Consumerisation, Cyber and Collaboration in the Cloud (4C) To provide Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR).
NATO is modernising its IT-Infrastructure through consolidation, virtualisation and cloud computing. It is hard to ignore the benefits of cloud technology to NATO: cost reduction, flexibility, new ways of working, enhanced storage and mobile access to data. However, Cloud technology brings new security issues that need to be understood and managed.
Data consolidation and the move towards Cloud services requires new thinking for our security personnel and development of new security services and solutions.
The key to successfully leveraging cloud computing will be managing the new risks associated with an increasing dependence on rapidly emerging commercial technologies whilst providing rich collaborative capabilities to the Alliance.
This year the NATO IA Symposium will focus on the threats and security issues that NATO will face in the era of cloud computing.
