mr. Glenn Pittaway

PRINCIPAL GROUP PROGRAM MANAGER FOR SECURITY ENGINEERING STRATEGY

Microsoft Corp.

Glenn Pittaway obtained his M.A. in Jurisprudence from St. Catherine's College, Oxford in 1982.

After some time in the legal profession, Glenn studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Computing Science at North Staffordshire Polytechnic.

His work with a small but influential software company, who were very early adopters of Microsoft Windows, lead to Glenn being one of the first developers on the newly emerging Windows NT, which in turn lead to his being recruited in 1993 by Microsoft Consulting Services UK as a development consultant, rising to eventually become Practice Manager for the Public Sector consulting practice.

It was during his time in the Public Sector that Glenn became involved in computer security, and software assurance, working on amongst other things: Windows NT (Security Enhancements) for Windows NT 4.0, and the ITSEC evaluation of Windows NT 4.0.

In 1999 he moved to Microsoft Corporation where he worked in program management on Windows, responsible for a number of areas, such as smart cards, biometrics and security evaluation.
